No idea, but I am glad to say Our outgoings are no longer more than our incomings. However I would not want to be paying all the bills on my own if I were just on my pension.

Hopefully will work a couple more years anyway.

For a family of 5 with only really one wage coming in our outgoings are pretty low by today's standards. We have a small mortgage and no debt, my bank manager thought I was stupid when I said we didn't have any unsecured debt (or secured for that matter) and explained it to me three times thinking I didn't understand what he was asking.

I know a young lady who lived in Tonbridge but worked in London. Her monthly rail travel cost more than her rent!

In total my in come is hiyer than my out going by about £50-£300 a month depending on the week

If i get this new job thoe my in come after out goings will be around £700-£800 a month

Our income is more than our outgoings. We have a a spreadsheet and a table comprising of essential outgoings and below that things that we would like and how much we are going to put into savings. It usually last about 3 months then we start again.

We have been doing this for about a year and it motivates us to save more and aim for the things that we want.

It makes it so much easier to stay on track

Moneydashboard on the tinternet is good. Can link your bank accounts to it if you want or do it all manually, gives you predictions for 12 months coming, can categorise everything.

Very useful.

Water

TV licence

Internet, mobile sims and TV

Pet insurance

Car insurance x 2

Car tax x 2

Fuel for cars

Life insurance

House insurance

Monthly allowance for food, toiletries, cleaning products, clothes, eating out etc.

60% of what's left overpays the mortgage, the rest sits in a savings account, dip into that for holidays.

Always have some money in the account for emergencies.

My outgoings are only my car, fuel, phone and food for the household. However I have a bit of a shopping addiction and then go do something stupid like sign a contact for £350 worth of wine yesterday

. If I could stop spending willy nilly I would be well off

. I'm going to make a effort from next month to squirrel some money away for a rainy day

We've been there it does get easier. We still live on predominantly on my wage. Years back I used to wonder how it was ever going to get easier.
