I’m not sure if it’s my memory or if it’s true, but am damm sure weather wasn’t as crap as it is now when I was a teenager?

Anyone else agree?

When I was little winter was winter and summer was scorchio.

I used to have 2 layers on by bonfire night, these days you can get away with a jacket.

It's more "all round wank" I think now!

Brighton - even Hove!

Winters definitely used to be colder when I was a kid. We had lots of snow in Lincolnshire. The summer of 76 was hot, we had lessons outside. Global warming will make the seasons blend together more but within that there will be extremes of hot and wet rather than cold. Unless of course, the icecaps melt, that will disturb the salt layers in the Gulf Stream and the UK will get a lot colder and wetter. A bit like Carlisle.

I'm sure all my summer holidays were 6 weeks of glorious sunshine, and the winters treacherous, well the footpaths at least, trying to navigate the black ice in the footpaths on the way to school. I haven't seen black ice for years, and my children haven't looked as much as a dick as me trying to stay on my feet walking to school.

I do have a vivid memory of being sat by the backdoor watching the heavy rain on a hot day I assume this one off event made national headlines at the time

What made me put this post on was August

My birthdays in August, it was always a good time for a birthday, you virtually guaranteed good sunny weather!

Now for the last 12 years it’s the monsoon month or feels that way

My birthday is July don't recall bad weather on my birthday either.

I think I remember seasons being well defined, whereas now you can't tell where we are in the year by weather alone, but this could just be me, and every generation thinks this as they get older??

But July and August was school holiday times and weather always seemed to be quite good

It’s more climate change than differing weather patterns. More extremes. I’m sure we didn’t used to get as much flooding in the past although of course if you lived in Lynnouth in 1952 you might disagree.

I remember playing out constantly in the sun during the weeks summer school holidays. Never seem to get 2 days the same nowadays.
