Size is especially important with the metal rings, where there's zero expansion and no forgiveness for getting it wrong.

I needed a 50mm ring but they only had 45mm in stock. I thought 5mm wouldnt make much difference, until I got hard and things got worrying, very quickly.

Once your tackle is stuck, in a solid stainless ring, with valuable parts turning inextricably engorged & purple, there isn't much you can do.

We just got a silicone Tracey Cox one from Love honey, with a balls ring that's incorporated into it, which you can or not use it, your choice...
