I’ve had my geek attacks occasionally (watching Ready Player One was the latest.)

But if I was to wake up one day in an alternate universe, I pray to wake up in Hyrule, the Zelda Universe.

What universe would you wish you could live in for a day?

Marvel? Star Wars? Mario? Simpson’s?

The problem with science fiction and fantasy worlds is that, even if you’ve got the skills or powers to deal with them, they’re pretty unpleasant places to be. Part of the reason we love Sam Vimes, or Han Solo, or Geralt of Rivia, or Mal Reynolds, is that they do the right thing /despite/ how awful the world/universe they live in is. Middle Earth and Westeros are beautiful, but life there is hard, even without the orcs or the Lannisters.

.

That said, if I get to be a hero, I’ll take either the Colony Wars universe (they have the best looking space ships) for science fiction, Middle Earth for fantasy, or MCU if I get to be Spider-man.

There isn’t a problem. We buy into these works, we like em.

Middle earth.

I also had Harry Potter too, just for all the spell casting.

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear; I buy into them and like them too. What I meant was that the problem with picking one of them to live in is that the ‘reality’ is different to the epic stories we see told in them. I mean, unless you’re a hero, Ankh-Morpork is a pretty shitty place to live. In fact, even if you’re a hero, it’s still a shitty place to live. We like it because of the humour Pratchett painted into it.

If I was a normal person living in the DC Universe, say, chances are I’d be someone who died as Superman punched General Zod through a skyscraper.
