The one that got away..

I recently got back in touch with an old flame from 20 years ago as we lost touch when she returned to Australia. She still lives there and both of us have moved on with our lives obviously and there’s probably little chance of us meeting again.

However should I tell her that I consider her to be “ the one that got away” ...is it better she knows or not?

If you've both moved on what's the point?

No point going over 'what if' and missed opportunities..

What are you hoping the outcome might be?

Aberdeenshire

So, you haven’t moved on. You need to deal with that.

I think I'd be flattered if someone thought that of me. However, I'm not sure what you hope to achieve from it.

Depends if you think it would freak it out or not. Only you would know that

I got told this on a school reunion. We were 12 when we went out lol

I thought it was sweet that someone thought of me that way. No harm in telling her as long as it's done light heartedly x

I’d hope that it would be taken in the right way, more of recognition of how dear I hold her in my memory

Slough Windsor ish

If you ate both single theres no harm in it. If however one or both of you are in a relationship keep it to yourself.... no good can come of telling her.

Yep, tell her. What happens after that is within her control.

I shared my feelings with someone when logic said I should do otherwise. We never regretted a moment. I know I would have always regretted not saying anything.

I would honestly make me smile. Just don't say it out of the blue. Make it flow in the conversation x

Personally I don't see any problem with that, it could be quite flattering from her perspective, assuming there is no ulterior motive

Depends if she’s single. If she’s not she may feel a bit awkward about it all and you lose a friend.

Weigh up the pros and cons.

Bit i think you should move on personally. The past is the past.

I’d be well flattered if someone from a former life told me that

Don't you dare....raking it all up might be ok for you...but what about her

I see someone who falls into that category for me on occasions, I fondly imagine she feels the same & that is enough for me. I could be wrong, but I like the mystery.
