I think there are different ways to manage phone numbers. For a start I have two mobile numbers: a normal serious one (rarely revealed) and a "shag-line" (given out if I am serious about meeting someone).

I also have WhatsApp (you need to give your number out for this to work) or Kik (free from having to reveal your number, just a username).

I tell them, no number swap until we have decided we want to meet. That still doesn't mean we definitely will meet, but it sifts out those who just want wank chat and pics over the phone.

My regular meets keep in contact with me through Kik, I use it to my advantage.

I have had to block a few because of the wank material, but it's been pretty successful for me ... And I don't give my user name out very often either (it's different from here for further safety reasons!)

3 messages. 1 from April, 2 from beginning of May. I've actually met one of them twice; he was one of my first meets from here but only messages once or twice a year.

My regular partners are on WhatsApp. I give my number after a good bit of conversation and a willingness to meet up.

I used whatsapp but I once received a call at 4 am asking if I am free to meet at 5am so I stopped using it.
