So I purchased a pair of stockings for a fb, given had torn them quite a bit, after caught on belt buckle.

When looking at stockings, noticed most of the boxes or packets had a logo saying 100% free

Looking it up turns out most womens tights are contaminated with loads of chemicals during manufacturing etc and unless the company has this logo, likely not safe to wear more than short periods.

Don't get that

So would that mean women also wear contaminated knickers

Maybe all the more reason women should go commando
