"Please don't practice on public roads. Why not do a track day?" Practice what? It’s just riding a bike, nobody has mentioned riding like a lunatic or anything else that may be construed as dangerous.

"I've thought loads of people to get there knee down and hang off, edge to edge. Get a cheap camera setup on a quiet round about, do a few laps, watch yourself. Just a case of going a touch quicker and hanging off a little more. I'm short and can on any bike despite not being able to touch the floor on most things. Even my Fat Busa is ground out. " See I’m quite tall, I just feel top heavy and think it’s just going to topple over. Maybe I need a bigger bike.

It’s just riding a bike, nobody has mentioned riding like a lunatic or anything else that may be construed as dangerous." You mentioned practising on a roundabout. Id consider practising anything on a bike that you're not proficient at, a danger to others. I'm sorry you don't.

It’s not really about proficiency or ability to be honest, it’s the fact I’m careful that prevents me from doing it. I’m not a new rider or a learner but thanks for your concern. And I’ve mopped up enough motorcyclists to know the dangers. Cheers.

"No sorry guys, I’m not saying my cock is that big I can’t get the last inch in. This is about the outer inch of my motorbike tyres. They’ve still got the bobbly bits on and I’ve done 3000 miles on them. I just feel too top heavy to lean over enough to make full use of the tyres. Any tips. I’ve heard riding at progressively faster speeds around a roundabout helps. " Grow some balls and lean son ![]()

Ok" Sweet Jesus, are you one those people who trawl threads looking for something to moan about when you don’t really know what you’re talking about. Neither I or anybody else has suggested riding dangerously or putting anybody else in danger but youve found a way to suggest I have and suggest I’m some kind of hooligan. Well done, I hope you got it out of your system.

"There’s a really long sweeping bend not far from the house that has a roundabout either end about a mile and a half apart, I spent the longest time going back and for between the two seeing how far down I could get. I made a huge mess of it the one day and ended up on the wrong side of the road between a van and the hedge. Terrified myself. It’s at that point I realised that I had most definitelty run out of talent, and thankfully didn’t hurt anybody else in the process. I now display my chicken strips proudly. Be safe, you could always take a belt sander to them to make yourself look a hero? " Yeah I’m confident on the bike, I’ve had it for four years and I’m happy with the way I ride. I just wish I could use more of the tyre so they last longer that’s all. I throw tyres away that are bald in the centre but brand new on the outsides. I supose that’s just my style of riding. Cheers

"Getting the bike over further is just a case of deliberate counter steering, we all do it anyway, it's just that normally we don't think about it. As it happens, on my bike (Ducati 1098s), i very rarely get to use the last half an inch on the outside of the back tyre. Some bikes just don't need to be cranked over hard to get round a bend. I've got mates i ride with that have MT10's and R1's, they have to use all the tyre sometimes, i don't ![]() Yeah that makes sense, I do feel quite low on the bends and my knee isn’t far off the road but there’s still an inch of unused rubber on the edges of the rear tyre.

"I dont know anything about bikes but what does it matter if you dont use that last inch, does it make a difference to riding?" Not really but it makes a difference to the longevity of the tyre. The more of the tyre you use the longer it will last. The more upright you are the quicker the tyres wear out in the centre so you end up throwing tyres away which are brand new in the the outside but bald in the middle. Annoying really.

"I used to have this problem on my space hopper. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've had about 25 bikes over the years, stripped 'em all down to every last nut & bolt. Me and 2 mates did a tour of Western Europe for 6 weeks back in 1986, we all had to have back wheel tyre changes at some point.

We have a couple of grate country roads that I love riding. Speed isn’t everything even though we don’t have speed limits. Take your time, get comfortable with your bike and don’t try too hard. It will come in the end

"I used to have this problem on my space hopper. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nice. That was my plan with a group of mates, we all decided to do our bike tests when we started hitting 40. I was the only one who actually did it and got a bike. Going on tour on your tod isn’t quite as much fun. I do all my own servicing and maintenance on mine, it’s a 20 year old bike but looks brand new.

"Time to sound like your mother! Make sure your bike is in the best and safest condition it can be. Ride within your own limits, the limits of conditions and within the law. Rather than riding fast, just set off a bit earlier and if it's cold, wear a vest. (Wish they had a wagging finger emoji)" ![]()
