How many threads in one day

How many threads are people allowed to post in one day?

There's been a lot of bitchy comments lately about a few men posters, saying they start too many threads. I think they keep the forums interesting with new topics.

Why do people hound some posters and not others? Is it jealousy because they can't think of new topics to post themselves?

i think theres "guidelines" about the number of posts one person can make in a day, but no hard and fast rule.

Im sure I read somewhere that the moderators will stop people starting threads if they feel its too many.

I think if your face fits and you've been around a while other forum users will give you an easier ride.

Newbies tend to get roasted or ignored from what ive noticed.

I guess it depends on the topic of conversation, so seem to go down better than others.

People are free to do as they choose within Fab rules.

I think some posters just get on other posters tits and when you see the 10th topic posted by someone that gets on your tits, you feel a bit about it all - hence the bitching.

Not saying anyone gets on my tits, just my pearls of wisdom.

I agree with you...I think new threads keep the forum interesting, if people dont like a particular thread topic, they dont have to read it

New posts about new topics are good

They are often interesting and generate debate and banter

But lots of threads are repeat ones and there are often 2 or 3 covering a similar topic, and usually posted by the same people

Im all for variety but not the same old spam thats been posted of late

Central

Keep things as they are - when Fab is forced to increase charges, or limit site improvements, because the forum costs too much to maintain, then it's a great user benefit.

Perhaps there could be a voting option, so that users vote to get a time-out for certain topics, if they're unpleasant etc, rather than not needing to be reported - if enough people voted for them, they could vanish for a couple of hours.

Under the Duvet

Some people just love to whinge and moan.

If it wasn't "Too many threads-gate" it would be "People with too many vowels in their names, how very dare they!" or "Posters who have the cheek to post between 4.07pm and 6.46pm" or some other random sh@te that offends...

Bit daft.

"Who have been bitched at for starting lots of threads?

Bunnyhop and 'stella to name a couple. I agree that men receive a harder time on here than women (and they are far more quickly criticised and harshly) but this narrative that women are above any criticism is utter bollocks.

I can think of a current poster who gets hassle for starting threads too. It’s funny how some of the women continually sympathising with the men seem to be so blind to it. "

Which current poster is getting hassle?

Who is continually sympathising with the men?

"How many threads are people allowed to post in one day?

There's been a lot of bitchy comments lately about a few men posters, saying they start too many threads. I think they keep the forums interesting with new topics.

Why do people hound some posters and not others? Is it jealousy because they can't think of new topics to post themselves?

Don't some women start loads of threads as well?

If you don't like them, don't open them I say

I haven't seen women getting bitched at for starting lots of threads.

Really? I can easily name a good handful of current and former posters who are women who have bitched at for that very reason.

I think it's because they don't like the poster or their style of posting, not sure about the jealousy thing.

Who have been bitched at for starting lots of threads? "

Most recently the Forum Police have been posting snide comments on every thread that GLADIATOR 10 and BananaMan start.

Usually any new man that posts in the forum gets hassle if he posts too often- or on subjects that the Forum Police don't approve of.

Have they? I must have missed that. Blanche has been very quiet of late, is that why?

I wouldn't worry about bananaman… he definitely gives as good as he gets and he posts totally unrelated and crappy comments on others threads in retaliation....swings and roundabouts

In a town Fab forgot

The advice to "just avoid a thread if someone's boiling your piss" is good advice.

Trouble is, sometimes you see the same face all over every single thread going out of their way to be a bell end, so people end up not participating or contributing to any threads.

There's loads of people that do that all over most threads but think they're being funny. Their buddies snigger along with them. Do you mean those types?
