Ok so our band are playing my daughter's birthday party and I've been asked to learn Charlie fuckin puth, attention. After playing it and learning it I think I quite like it.

What songs do like to listen to that you would never admit to?

I don't have guilty pleasure music. I listen to what my ears like, not what earns me social kudos.

If you like something, you like something. Fuck what anyone else thinks.

Spot on ..although I'm a massive Queen fan since I was 11..I like anything from Metallica to the Nolans..I started listening and buying music from the age of 11 (1974) so my main music era is from then to the mid 90's when I was a prolific music buyer..The other day in the charity shop I spotted The Dooleys greatest his on Vinyl for a £1.. I bought it for the nostalgic value ..I posted it on facebook, were the piss was greatly made out of me..but it did not bother me ..it just brought back great memories of my youth, plus they were a local band..If I like it, I like it,it's as simple as that

I never appreciated Travis until I started learning guitar.

You shouldn’t be guilty of liking music, it’s like any art, you can’t be forced to like or unlike something. I openly admit to enjoying Dolly Parton and Aqua. No apologies.

"Ok so our band are playing my daughter's birthday party and I've been asked to learn Charlie fuckin puth, attention. After playing it and learning it I think I quite like it.

What songs do like to listen to that you would never admit to?

I never appreciated Travis until I started learning guitar.

You shouldn’t be guilty of liking music, it’s like any art, you can’t be forced to like or unlike something. I openly admit to enjoying Dolly Parton and Aqua. No apologies. "

Good luck with the playing, I have played some really shit songs in my time for a giggle. I'd like to see kojak get nits, but most of all Dolly Parton's tits.

Or ken Dodd kiss estha Rantzen? (Spl).

I hear what your saying, when my boy asks me to play something he likes, I’m lucky enough to have Queen or Coldplay as an option.

He has good taste then. Might inspire him to play. Trying to get my son to but he thinks he can just pick it up and play like his dad. Doesn't realise the hours and dedication you have to put in.

"Jim Reaves, dam it’s out in the open "

My idea of hell.

Going to visit the elders on Sunday or during Christmas as a kid was a living hell. They used to totter to the record player and slap it on. I had to G.R.I.T my teeth until it reached the end, then they'd put on some more!

Hell hell hell hell hell hell.

Absolute HELL.

Did I say it was absolute hell?

It was like Alcatraz because I was a trapped prisoner.

I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard.

Love David Gates. The song ‘Everything I Own’ he wrote when his Dad died. I played it at my Dad’s funeral - 6 years later & I still can’t listen to it, but it’s the most beautiful track x

All sorts for me - grew up listening to everything from 50’s rock & roll through to 70’s glam rock, then added my own love of all things 80’s & 90’s to that. Post millennium music is 80% crap, which is down to X factor & the like (plus me being old & grouchy now!!)

Guiltiest pleasure of all?? ‘Save Your Kisses For Me’ by Brotherhood of Man - UK’s winning Eurovision entry in 1976. Cheesy dance & all!!

Ooooh so many songs that would get disapproving looks and threats of friendship removal But they please my ears so I'll keep on enjoying them.

One such example: Uncle Kracker, Follow Me https://youtu.be/0Gjx-ZQuQ_Y

If you like something, you like something. Fuck what anyone else thinks."

In a nutshell. Other half came home and I didn't hear him as I was cooking and singing loudly to Despasito by Luis Fonsi...in Spanish, go me. The look on his face. think we was expecting Stevie Wonder or Luther Vandross.
