Opening messages

Hey Fabbers!

So, I've read on an awful lot of profiles that under absolutely no circumstances are you to send a lady "how's you?" (or something else as short and meaningless) and expect a reply. My question to you good poeple is, what has been the best first message you've sent?

All messages must be unrelated to an individuals profile.

I never know what to put in those huge white boxes. I know your more likely to get a response if your eye catching, witty etc but it's so hard as you never know what the other person wants

Think we're all in the same boat bud, if there's nothing in a person's page to go on or a picture to comment on then it's next to impossible to send an interesting messages that's more than one line. At that point u think it comes down to your own pictures as to whether you get a reply or not.

If you read their profile carefully, that should give you a clue about the kind of message which would be favourably received

I find that not reading their profile and going with:"Hi, how are you? What are you looking for and what are your interests?

I noticed when I pressed the button to send you a message that you are not looking for men. Can I change your mind?"

At least, that's my first copy and paste template anyway.

I just included the blank profiles too for the sake of it, but your right in that blank profiles are waste of time. I'll reiterate, I'm looking for the best opening lines that aren't related to any specific individual

But what on earth is the point of generic opening lines that aren't related to any specific individual? You need to tailor each message individually and express a genuine interest in the person you're messaging. It's going to be pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain if you don't!

I rarely send unsolicited messages OP but when I do I tend to go with something that does the following:

- Introduces myself and provides a little information about me and invites them to look at my profile.

- Tells the reader what interested me about their profile and why I'd be interested in getting to know them better.

- Includes a face pic

- Is polite, respectful and makes it clear I have no expectations other than getting to know them better through messaging initially.

So far I've only had one no reply, so seems to work.

I say hello and that I figure that’s better than a dick pic.

If there is anything specific to the recipient I’ll add a line or two here.

I say a bit about how you can’t take Fab too seriously, and I’m happy to chat as much as anything. That my attitude is to have some chat, with no expectations, and if anything does happen it’s a bonus. That it’s refreshing how open people are about sex here, and can even be quite funny if they don’t take it too seriously.

I finish by introducing myself by way of my name and a face pic or two, inviting the recipient to reply if they want to say hello back. And that I know the message isn’t that funny, but it’s good natured and that’s the next best thing.

Most of the time it still gets deleted. Heck sometimes that alone is enough to get me blocked. But once in a while it goes down really well, I’ve gotten chatting and had a few really great meets.

Mine above is fairly generic, but I’ll add a tailored line or two if there’s anything I think I can run with.

And I agree blank profiles without pics or info are maybe not worth messaging. But there are a good few that are in the middle. Maybe with some good pics, and a well written if generic profile.

The initial message is only really an introduction. Hopefully if someone likes my pics, and the message, that’s just the starting point to some more chat.
