Life can be tough.

Morning.

So reading some posts and profiles/ updates etc makes me feel that we all may need a little support sometimes.

I work where mental health is quite prevalent and it can have such a bearing on where life is at or where it's going for some people. Some don't have that knowledge/ support network etc so I'm posting this on here to say if anyone on here is or is connected to someone who is struggling seek advice and support either online, by phone or in person. A problem shared really is a problem halved.

Maybe status updates/ threads/comments are a cry for help - even subconsciously sometimes maybe just attention seeking - who knows. I'm not judging. I'm just putting it out there.

For anyone needing support there are agencies out there who will listen to you and offer support without judgement. Making the first steps can be hard but you won't be alone.

Agencies such as the Samaritans, mind etc can be easily contacted.

It would be great if other posters could share organisations too.

Look after yourselves and have a good Sunday.

An excellent post and perfectly true observations

The movember foundation offer superb support for all men’s health issues and have specific help pages for mental health, both for sufferers and for people who want advice on how to help a friend/family member.

Completely agree.

I’m not afraid to admit I’ve got/had mental health issues and to some extent when reading some posts I can ‘see it’ .

It’s a bit random but anyone can message me for a chat if they feel they have a ‘cloud’ over them. It sometimes helps chatting with a complete neutral.

Much love

The forum support shown when someone opens up about struggling this way has been phenomenal.

Great thread OP.

We have a Talking Shop in the town centre that is a walk in mental health support centre.

No appointments needed.

Men in particular... don't try to ignore it. Talk to someone.

Really refreshing to see these types of topics coming up with reasonable regularity.

Samaritans tel: 116123 You can also email them.

For men - https://www.thecalmzone.net

(The campaign against living miserably)

If someone is actively suicidal Maytree Respite is an amazing place. http://www.maytree.org.uk

For older people (I think mainly retirement age upwards, although I think it might be from 55) the silver line is great.

Books

The Happiness Tap by Russ Harris

Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams

Novels by Matt Haig are good too.
