People that delete messages without even looking. Is it a tad disrespectful to the person that may have put some effort in? Or is it just plain laziness?!?

They probably looked at the profile of the sender before opening the message and found they were of no interest so why read the message? Or they could have read it, put it back to unread then deleted?

A person can visit your profile without you knowing they have. If they don't like what they see they may just decide to delete the message. From your point of view it looks like they didn't even give you a chance. But they might have

Or sometimes I just let them sit there unread. Because some people love that even more.

I look at the profile before opening a new message,if it doesn't interest me then I delete. A meet will never come from it so it saves their time aswell as mine

When ladies here get over 20 odd messages everytime they log on I doubt they are going to read them all... I've sent a few, didn't hear back, moved on.. No point getting upset about it.

A friend of mine had 100 messages within 2 hours of signing up, no one should be expected to read through them all.

Not theres loads of reasons

For example if a lass clearly states not meeting on there profile but people send lazy requests anyway it would be very boring just reading every message they get saying not meeting

But thats 1 or loads of examples why

Unless you've written war and peace most messages take seconds to write and send. I don't think an inbox full of fuck off messages would be good for anyone! I don't reply if not interested as I reapply my age filters and this would break them which I don't want.

OP, maybe delete your sent mail as soon as you've sent it, then you'll not know what the person has done with it. You'll either get a reply or you won't, no stressing and no angst, simple

Sometimes I put junk mail in the recycling without opening the envelope.

Lots of time I move emails to deleted just from the notification window.

Typically we ignore almost all mail on here too. See no difference.

It's just part and parcel of being on fab, particularly because of the huge disproportion of numbers of single men relative to everyone else. Accept it and just keep trying

Our profile clearly states we are not meeting single guys. Although we are happy to chat to guys if they can't be bothered to read the profile why should we be bothered to answer a message we didn't ask for. If someone has shown they have read the profile then one of us always does our best to answer even if they have ignored the age limits, or the fact that we won't meet.

That being said I have about 10 messages sitting in the inbox read but unanswered because I am unsure what to say and haven't had the time to do it properly. I'm sure someone somewhere is complaining about how rude I am not answering

I have a phrase in my profile and clearly state in my profile that messages will get deleted if they don't meet certain criteria.

If you can't be bothered to read my profile, then I can't be bothered to read your message. Simples.

Just saves time in the long run. This might be a site to find sex, but I still want someone who has a brain and is interested in me other than just being a hole!!

We don’t get many messages so reply to all, the ones we don’t reply to are those that have messaged us before and explained we don’t meet men and left it as that (we don’t use filters) and they message us again, we ignore and block.

The profile pic, username & the first line I can see is usually enough to tell me, I don't want to read the message or engage with the sender.

It's not lazy... I don't have time to open every message I get waste my time reading something that I'll only delete anyway.

The sender can see its been deleted unread.. That should be enough for them to realise I'm not intrested & not mail again, doesn't stop them.. Then they get blocked.

Depends on your definition of effort. If a hi, wuu2, or how r u counts as effort, I'm gonna delete every time. If someone messages and I can see its more than a few words, I do read, and pretty much always reply, even if to say no but thanks anyway.

Replying to someone who you're not interested in is totally pointless. I am here for purely selfish reasons, so I reply where I choose, and delete when I need to.
