Depends on what mood I'm in I suppose, but was listening to The Division Bell on vinyl the other day

As an aside, Guy Pratt who took over from Roger Waters as bass player, was in the same year as me at school

For me it's The Wall I love all of their albums but the wall is all that ....also have Roger waters the wall dvd don't know how many times I've watched it with full surround sound

David Gilmour unplugged is goosebumps

YouTube it. As an added note cannot wait for the show in the planetarium in the Science Centre on Saturday. It is Wish you were here. If you have never had a chance to get along to one of these events then it is a must!! I saw The Wall and was phenomenonal xxx

I agree, I watch it timevand time again. Bowie at the end, was that his last London appearance I wonder?

I also like the live Roger Waters concert with Snowy White, Andy Fairweather Low, Doyle Bramble and Susan Melvoine from about 12 years back

They're all great albums and difficult to pick a favourite. One that seems to get overlooked is Ummagumma which is amongst my favourites.

Animals has some damn fine moments, and fewer unlistenable bits than all the others.

The Wall has extremely high points but they are interspersed with some of the most dreary dirges.

Dark side of the moon just has to be no.1 just for being so innovative and ahead of its time.

For me animals is my favourite. I love dsotm and wywh but always felt animals was underrated. The wall is amazing and getting to see it performed on the last Roger waters tour was amazing.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching David gilmour at Albert hall on his last tour. And also got tickets to Roger waters at Hyde park in July.

Can't you tell I like Floyd.

In fact I'm listening to the bravery of being out of range as I write this post

I’m going to stick my neck out here and say Piper at the Gates of Dawn. And before anybody asks I’m not old enough to remember, but I do enjoy the eccentricities of the Syd Barrett period.

I’ve also recently rediscovered Momentary Lapse of Reason, which was the first I bought. It might really be a Dave Gilmour solo effort but it has some great moments.

You should still go. Try and get a friend or family member to go with you and take your late partners spirit with you. I'm sure he would want you to continue to take part and not just become a spectator

Just thought I'd mention that the brit Floyd are well worth going to see if you haven't already. I seen Floyd in earls court on the pulse tour and can honestly say brit Floyd do an amazing job.

Meddle, although I have a big soft spot for Atom Heart Mother.

I have preferred albums for different moods, although the very definition of which albums are actually Pink Floyd is blurred for me (i.e. Syd's vision, The Wall and the Final Cut being strongly Roger's voice, to the Division Bell being the sound of Gilmour).

By the way, which one's Pink?

I think that's the whole point of their concept- that it was a definitive sound as opposed to four band members. The relative anonymity (as opposed to Beatles or Stones fame) was a gimmick which is why there are so many albums under the flag of Pink Floyd that could be argued whether it truly is them or not. If that makes sense.

WYWH is pretty immaculate.

Animals is sonically mesmerising and takes me back to being a stoner teenager.

The Division Bell has some great songs.

DSOTM deserves its place as an iconic timeless album.

If there could be any doubt who really shaped the bands sound.

Without David Gilmour, would this conversation even be happening? Would anyone even know who they were?

Wish You Were Here is my favorite by some margin.

I like 99% of PF up to The Final Cut. I lost interest after that.

Saw The Wall in Earls Court in '81 and saw them at Wembley in '88. Also saw Pros and Cons in the NEC.

Their output from 68-72 has some great music, but for me there's no defining album from that era

Absolutely amazing, and to think Gilmour still uses that strat off that gig, you can now buy the same guitar but you have to pay extra for someone to scratch it just like Gilmour's £4200
