Is it me or are people in the north a lot more friendly and ready to chat and laugh. Than the south I’m from London and have found southern people on here very rude and not welcoming or even chatty and take offence at you saying hello

Thoughts people

Don't know about that as don't want to create a north South divide. I just take people as they come apart from them southern fairies.

One or two can be a bit up themselves but not necessarily southerners

I live in Cumbria, about 30 miles from the Scottish border and spend quite a lot of time in Wandsworth, Battersea and Fulham. Can't say I've noticed a lot of difference to be honest. People do seem a little more wary of strangers in London, but I guess it's the same in any large city.

Years back I'd made that assumption about southerners...until a spent a few weeks working in Chelmsford.

I was totally wrong as they were the most friendly welcoming people I have met

People in London can be friendly, people up North can be awful. I’ve lived in Manchester and Sheffield and now in London... I don’t think there’s much of a difference.

I wouldn't say that "Londoners" are a fair example of southerners to be honest. You know there's not much gang violence or moped theft gangs operating in Wiltshire.

I live in the south but have lived and worked in the north. Although I have chatted to people from all over the country I personally have found it much harder to get meets in the South.

Indigenous Londoners are friendly. It's them bloody foreigners who won't talk.

On a serious note: I'm South East England, North East London and I know a lot of very friendly people. If you're talking about on here, I've spoken to lots of friendly men and a few friendly women, as I don't often chat to women.

The Tea Party socials I've been to in London have been very friendly.

It can be a bit difficult sometimes, but you can generally make a sentence out of it.

I got a bus down Ilford Lane on Monday and was amazed at how it is now. It was like being on holiday in India (not that I've ever been) or central Asia. It's like it's own little micro bubble of ethnicity. I don't know how friendly the people are though? we got off at the station and got another bus to the park.

True but it’s definitely more rewarding to chat with northern fabswingers there more open and friendly

Down here there’s definitely a hard edged and rude manner I’m finding
