This may sound daft but it works for me....if I'm restless/wake up and can't then get back to sleep I lie there and keep my eyes open. I then challenge myself to keep them open for as long as possible. It usually doesn't take long before I'm off to the land of nod again.

It takes the focus away from the fact that I can't sleep therefore making me fall asleep again quicker

Masturbating is great. Takes your mind off whatever you're thinking about and focuses it on "the job at hand".
