Hitchin

So I’m looking at going away with my partner for a short weekend break 5th-8th October

Any suggestions as to where to go... looking for more the cheap and cheerful side of things. Either UK or Europe. Preferably £500 or less

All options considered...

So far have looked at hoseasons type holidays, spa breaks and London theatre breaks.

I don’t mind only doing 1 night in a more expensive hotel with theatre or spa or summit. Just want somewhere nice to go during that weekend.

I’d looked at another hotel in that chain already funnily enough.... it’s abit pricy tbh... for the nights I’d be looking at is over £300 a night

I can have 2 night for that much in my favourite 5star in London lol

Slough Windsor ish

Check out the app HomeAway. 1000's of apartments all over the world to rent a bit like air b and b. We found a lovely studio apartment in central Paris for £55 a night!

if you're looking for abroad, I'd decide which airport you want to fly from, check where the budget airlines fly to from there, and just pick wherever sounds like what you want - Barcelona, Valencia, Marseille, would be good options if you want city AND beach - Sicily or Sardinia if you want beach/countryside/town, Dubrovnik for beach/town/history, Budapest for city and thermal baths. Or if you're less bothered about hot weather, maybe Berlin?

Accommodation-wise I'd go self-catering from own of the big websites like homeaway, owners abroad, homelidays etc.

I have had a little look yes... some things look good. I was thinking maybe Spain way.... but then I’m also torn over whether to just stay in this country lol... so many decisions.

I’ve only done Paris and lanzarote before.. and Mexico lol. I don’t normally get chance to do many holidays so I really don’t know where to go haha

Me and my pals went to gran canaria for 4 days in March. Local airport for £143. Fights...hotel and transfer. My pals went away 5 or 6 times with them and I've booked for July at a great price. You also can pay 2 weeks before you fly out. Their flights are always dead cheap for some reason

Hope you get somewhere nice x

If it's Europe - Paris is fab - airbnb means you could get a lovely place - it is romantic and we would recommend the catacombs as they are so much more memorable than the eiffel tower. If you are feeling a little more adventurous - Marakesch is far cheaper than europe and you will have a great time in the souks and can still spend less than your budget.
