Ok, you’ve got a new message. What do you do next?

Wife clicks on the profile first before reading the message then looks at the photos then reads the profile then after all that reads the message!

Hubby reads the message then reads the profile then looks at the photos.

Surely the wife’s doing things the wrong way round?

I'm with the wife, I rarely read messages before checking out the profile and veris - unless it's from someone I know x

Usually profile first. If the profile is crap and the message looks like it won't be up to much either I just delete it.

I always check the profile first..

I go to height first..

If under 6ft i dismiss immediately

If over, i look at pics and read profile..

If there are no pics i dismiss

If no profile to read i dismiss

Sit down immediately to get over the initial shock and elation. Then have a read of the message and finally click on the profile.

Check the pictures (are they hot)

Check the profile (can they construct a sentence)

Check the height (no taller than 5'7)

Do they smoke (hopefully not)

Check the veri's (have they fucked any wrong'uns)

Read the message (have they read my profile)

Probably leave message as unread and wait a few days for them to forget they messaged before deleting it.

Usually I go in this order - Profile, pictures, veris then message.

I may alter the stages but always go through all stages. Then I decide if I will reply and if yes how to respond.

I'll read the message, check the photos on the profile to decide if I find them attractive, then reply. I reply to any messages I get out of politeness anyway.

Agree with this as don't have such a structured and standardised methodical approach to such, no right or wrong way, what matters is if the person or people match what your looking for....but also

its difficult to really judge a book by its cover...sometimes dialogue is the only way forward.

I get a glimpse at the message - but don't frequently check my inbox, when there's so much to do in the forum

From the glimpse - which shows if it's a FAF of some type, or a non-FAF message - I visit the profile. Look at the photos and then read the profile. Pretty much the same as the op's partner.

I usually see what the preview bit says, then click on profile before reading message. As if I am see from their profile that they are not for me then nothing they say in the message will change that

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I look at the profile first....if it reads like I might like them I look at the pics....if it looks like I might like them I open the message - if the profile is a bit pants I don’t bother with the rest
