I won't buy it.

Same with the Mail.

Produced by the vilest cretins you can imagine.

The sort who'd rake through your dustbins in order to sell more copies of their shit.

That is what you are paying for - to reward the scumbags who'll trample through the lives of innocent people and sell their granny in the process.

There is a reason why tabloid journalists are the 2nd least trusted occupation (after politicians).

No thanks.

'quite enjoy reading the agony aunt page and working out what advice I would give.

Sometimes think about making up a few stories myself just to find out how far fetched they would need to get before someone at the paper would twig

This completely

Whilst I'll never frown on people that buy either, it does concern me that their opinions are often informed by the way both papers are written.

Every newspaper printed in Britian has their own political leaning . It's certainly not just the Sun and Mail who are guilty of this. Just out of curiosity, where do you get your news and current affairs from ( and I'm only asking, not having a pop )

I wasn't necessarily referring to their politics, and agree that most mainstream media have their own agenda and leanings, which is one reason I very rarely buy a newspaper.

Some however are a lot more sensationalist than others where righteous indignation is rife (The Sun and The Mail being two of the worst offenders) - I prefer to hear the news as the news plain and simple and form my own opinions than be guided to them by any form of media.

Not fussed with The Sun as they post bollocks, and usually they have funny things inside that are clearly not true but a laugh to read.

But the Daily Mail...? Fuck it. Awful paper not even worth wiping my arse on. Horrible vote leave racist scum bags who never post anything of worth, have terrible journalistic skills and will openly promote that stupid toss pot Donald Trump.

IMO, of course

I can't begin to tell you how indifferent I am to the Sun and its Ilk.

These 'newspapers' have given up real journalism a long long time ago. These are now comics for grown ups IMHO pandering to their readers' prejudices to promote the causes of their owners.

The next time you read the Daily Mail shouting its bile about migrants, benefits, public spending etc, just remember it is owned by a company registered in Bermuda to avoid paying UK taxes on its profits.

I am a Daily Mail reader, have been for over 40 years, but can filter through what I read and judge accordingly.

No newspaper is any worse or better than any other. They're all the same. Ok, some papers get it wrong but won't admit it!

Some can do some good, others cannot!

My Dad was a sun reader for as long as I remember.

It was banned in our house after Hillsborough.

I wouldn't use it to line the cats litter tray.

They are just after sales.

Just look at how the Sun treated the supporters after Hillsbrough.

I dont judge the person who reads them.

Can't be bothering with news papers. I'm slightly dyslexic so it takes a long time, by the time I'd finished it would be yesterday's news. I like to flit between news channels so that I'm not receiving one particular bias.

Channel 4 always seems like they look at things slightly more in depth. I also like the foreign news channels. Interesting to see our country's news from the rest of the world's perspective and see what they think of us!

I can very much understand why it’s not very well liked on Merseyside.

I read most of my news online now anyway. The Mails sports pages are a good read.

I use a news aggregator anyway for stuff relevant to my life investments etc.

It's a vile hateful right wing rag . It's sexist. It's misogynistic. It's racist. It's homophobic. It repeatedlyattacks the working classes (who are it's core demographic). Pure evil amd propaganda peddled as news.

I judge it's readers quite negatively and have no shame in admitting that.

After the way the paper reported on the Liverpool fans at the Hillsborough disaster, the Sun newspaper should have been shut down.

Alex Sayle took a stack of the Sun newspaper and burned it on an episode of Alexia's Liverpool, no one said a thing when they found out what was burning.

This is my view too, I’d caveat that my immediate gut reaction is to judge its readers negatively, but I’d still want to form an opinion based on listening to whether they align and fully believe and regurgitate views as written in the paper. Sadly, I often find they do.

I judge most newspapers and online news pages with equal trepidation. Mostly due to there being an agenda or failure to remain impartial in most reporting.

The Sun is just one such example. My friends that still read it's biased columns are totally swayed without questioning the words.

It's dismaying to me but I know that it is my own opinion and they can do and think as they wish.
