FabSwingers.com forum: Feeling really down, please cheer me up.

We had a lady that passed away in our care home who was 104 recently and didn’t have anyone left to attend her funeral, apart from us at the home and I was asked to contact the paper about putting an article in about her long life, which I did and I spoke to management about it beforehand and I said ‘wouldn’t it be lovely to get lots of people there for her, she would have loved it’ and they said it would be lovely too.

Spoke to the paper and it had a lot of response from people saying they would love to attend (it has reached someone that knew her) and now I’ve been told by one of the carers that knew her years that only people that actually knew her can attend (this is also the same cater who told us to wear black for the funeral and if I know the lady who passed away she would have wanted colour and lots of it!).

After a brilliant day yesterday thinking this lady would have got a brilliant send off and feeling quite proud of myself that a lady that lived through 2 world wars and seen loads of things change over the years was going to go ‘alone’ and now I feel really low, not only that because I’m not at work until Wednesday I am paranoid they will be slagging me off at work.

Sorry I just wanted a rant that’s all.

Thats so sad when I go I don't want people wearing black either. Does the person who said only those that know her can go have the authority to say that?

Apparently it’s gone a bit viral and hundreds of people commenting with biker groups etc wanting to follow her etc and that’s why the carer got annoyed because it went so ‘viral’. Still feel annoyed lol.
