We play together but the hubby also plays on his own. So we get checked after a meet as anyone would do it's normal

Talked to a couple and one had a meet on there own but didn't get checked because condoms were used.

Do people not realise condoms are never guaranteed 100%. They kissed had oral and still not checked

Brighton - even Hove!

It’s risk assessment. The only safe sex is no sex.

Many people think condoms are 100% protection. Many people never ever get checked because they think only dirty people and gays get sti's.

You don't need a test after every fuck.

Just look after yourself and assume that no-one else does.

People don't realise everything you can catch while using a condom. However every meet is excessive as well as there is a 3 month incubation period for some STI although these days your usually ok after a month.

Recommendation for casual protected sex is 3 monthly. However if a mishap happens such as condom splits - avoid further sexual contact, test on week 2 and try to abstain until you get results. After another month test again for anything that may not have shown up on the first test

We never believe anyone thats why we get checked often. We don't use condoms with each other so better to get checked often. Even the nurse at the gum clinic says the same better than passing it to each other

Maybe so but your tests would Be inconclusive before at the earliest a month from contact which your nurse at the clinic should tell you and it would Be unlikely that you wouldn't pass something between each other if your all playing together anyway or unless you abstain for the testing period

I thought if you get checked in January you’re good for the year, like an MOT.

Leeds

OP If the nurse says people should get tested every time they have sex there must be a huge queue at your clinic.

. And they are busy enough as it is. I'm thinking cost implications as it's a free service with very limited funding

No just with us being swingers they are ok. They have had swingers come in there who haven't been checked in over a year of swinging and some get bad news too

Central

My experience is that we swingers ae are generally better educated and testing more frequently than the wider population.

Whilst condoms are not 100% effective, it's generally not needed imo to test after every meet, unless you go several months between meets. Vs

The tests are so easy and via the post. So there's really no excuse

Im sure the majority are aware of if the risks.

It’s up to them if they get checked or not.

Did you know it’s pointless getting checked right after a meet? You need to wait at least a 3/4 weeks after that meet.

I don't think it's normal to get checked after every meet, that is impractical if meeting multiple people. Every three months is recommended.

A box at end of your bed

All Our local clinics are always so damn busy. You can only book an appointment 48 hours in advance and the walk-in centres if your not there 45 minutes before they open their doors and wait in line you just don't get an appointment.

Definitely a waste of resources, time and money.

The nurse seems ill informed and shouldn't be telling you about other peoples test results.

I'm hoping that you don't play very often if that's the case?

As for the post above with regards to postal tests, they're supposed to be for the under 25's. As far as I'm aware they only check for two different sti's. Id rather go to the clinic and get a full screen done.

Not in all areas. Our area is under 25 and is only 2. In the West Midlands with the umbrella scheme it is for all ages and tests for everything but hsv but they are a little over sensitive and can give false positives
