Pain/relief and feeling sick

Any tips on pain relief? I've taken co-codomal and nursing a hot water bottle and the pain isn't really easing, it's all in my neck and ear and I'm now feeling dizzy and sick, obviously with it being a sunday my options are limited and further limited by being home alone with no car today.

No idea if the feeling sick is related to the pain or just an unfortunate coincidence.

Sorry, just feeling very sorry for myself today

TIA

Ginger

Sounds like an ear infection. Get docs tomorrow and get antibiotics.

Cocodamol makes me feel sick and dizzy,so it's maybe that causing the nausea. I was prescribed it a while back and had to basically choose which I could stand more, the pain, or the nausea caused by the painkillers.

Get yourself to the docs tomorrow, hope you feel better soon.

I find paracetamol on its own to work well.

As above stick with paracetamol and try ibuprofen as inflammation in the ear canal may be causing the pain

Eat something...

Pills on an empty stomach aren't a good idea

Same here, Co-codamol is probably the nausea culprit but get checked out by a doctor

It could be whiplash. Does your doctor know about the car accident?

Plymouth

Try omeprazole (or over the counter alternative) they coat the stomach for stopping sickness when taking tablets.

Yes they are aware, every time I think I'm starting to feel better it flares up again and somewhere else, but this was the first time I've felt sick from it. Because it's not constant or in the same place I keep thinking it might just be in my head but it's worn off now, I'll stick to the paracetamol too.

Ask them to consider whiplash. It could be an infection but it also sounds like whiplash.

I'm seeing a physio and she said it was mild whiplash last week, but how I felt earlier was completely different to anything I've felt before.

Brighton - even Hove!

Do you feel like you’re going to vomit?

Do you feel dizzy?

Is it an ache or an acute sharp pain?

Definitely see your GP - could be an underlying problem that needs sorting ...

If you have any travel sickness tablets at home they will stop you feeling sick and as others have said ibuprofen/paracetamol

Hope you feel better soon

Well been to the Drs and apparently its the whiplash causing the pain, he's prescribed Diazepam as a muscle relaxant, but a bit wary of taking them now. But thanks for all your advice.

Don't forget to inform your insurance company that you have suffered whiplash after the accident along with a note from your doctor

diazepam is an anti spasmodic and if you have 2mg you’ll probably get 5 or 10. They won’t have much addictive qualities at that amount.

It will only be temporary until the pain eases and it will give any minor damage a chance to heal

Glad to hear you got it sorted
