Ghosting...

Recently been chatting to one of my lovely female friends on here about this topic. We’ve both experienced ‘the ghost’ in the past, from guys.

Just wondering if women/couples do this to guys too?

Interested to hear your experiences.

Fyi, I find it very fucking annoying!

Yes they do.

Chat for ages, form a bond, wake up one morning and they’ve vanished

No, if someone pisses me off I let them know. Going quietly (ghosting) is not my style.

I’ve only experienced it once and that was someone i’d been on a few dates with. Was quite upsetting at the time.

I had it with someone who I was submissive to. Have to say it fucked me over for ages. Initially worried he might have died! Lol

Then I came to the realisation he had just vanished. Eventually (over 6months later) popped back up on here claiming to have been mugged of his phone and couldn't contact me! BOLLOCKS

Ghosting, breadcrumbing etc always happens in this internet day and age, especially on here. It’s sadly part and parcel of life. You live and learn though and don’t let it put you off fab or dating out in the real world

Seems to happen to me quite a bit OP...not sure why, maybe it’s me haha

After all I am the common denominator

But at this point I’ve given up wondering...as I figure it’s not my lose

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Some people over react to somebody going quiet...

I did go a little quiet for a while last year when I got diagnosed with cancer...

When I did eventually log back in, someone who I had been chatting with a lot and met on a couple of occasions, got real pissy with me, sent a ranting message and blocked me..

At the time it was a little upsetting but then I wasn't in a good place... Guys hospital mainly, really not a good place to be...

There are circumstances that may cause people to go a little quiet, surprisingly, real life does get in the way on the odd occasion...

"I’ve had few winks then when I send a message they leave the message unread and never reply. Why fucking send the wink then??!!"

That's not the same as ghosting. Maybe they didn't like the message you sent.

I've never been ghosted or ghosted someone but I can see how it might happen. I would just take it that they'd moved on, and do the same.

Yeah, I’m aware of that. As for the messages, if a short “Hi how are you doing thanks for the wink” or similar is a turn off then WTF do people expect to a wink?

have uffred ghosting on a few occasions... either felt uncomfortable or pleased afterwards.

the "tardis" act does lead to a bit of paranoid..

Even worse, received a message after being on cam that my cam had been streamed to social media!!!

That was from a ghost and very off-putting

It’s where someone just ignores messages and doesn’t reply until you get the message they are not interested

Many people do it both men and women for various reasons. Some do it without knowing they have (been accused of this ) And some do it because it easier than explaining to the other person. It can massively suck, but life goes.

It’s happended to me a couple of times recently, and I hate it. I hate loose ends in my life and I’d much rather someone say “not into this any more” as I can then shut the book and move on.....ghosting messes with my head a bit and takes me a while to get over as I over think things.

Guess I just need a thicker skin.

It happens usually I’f they think that the other person is developing feelings they just panic and vamos. Or they think the other person might impact future meets they cut all ties. It’s just the nature of the site wouldn’t take it personally

Ghosting just happens everywhere - I think its coz people loose interest or just get enticed by someone else. I kinda feel that in this day and age due to social media contact people dont actually create a proper bond (easier to ghost when its online than when you physically meet someone).

I find it so rude and infuriating, if you cant be arsed with chatting or arent interested , then just say.

I think it only really counts as ghosting if you've actually met the person a few times and would normally have regular contact with them. It's ghosting if that person suddenly decides they no longer want to return your messages or see you again.

Just exchanging a few messages on here and then them dissapearing I don't think that really counts as anything.

Thats when someone ghosts you then months later gets back in touch and basically acts like nothings happened .
