I was never one of those snarly teenagers with the attitude and I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to facts and opinions so I figure I'm still learning.

I'll be one of those wee old ladies that has a story for all occasions.

You can never know it all. Everyday you can learn something new in life.

As for people who say to me they have seen everything in life. I simply like to ask them if they have ever seen a chinese funeral , tends to shut them up & i still never met anybody who has.

( no offence mean't to anybody of chinese origin by the way )

Seen a Chinese wedding. In China of all places. Dress is a bit different, and I've still got PTSD from the fireworks.

If any Chinese people I know die. You'll be the first to know. x

Teenagers will have answer to this, or just go on to YouTube and watch one to keep their claim that we know nothing and they know it all.

Aristole was named by the Oracle at Delphi as 'The wisest of all the Greeks' when he asked the Oracle why it was so, she replied 'becouse you alone among the Greeks, know that you know nothing'

Always liked that.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Was never a know it all as a kid, I have always had nerdy desire for knowledge. As a kid my favourite books were the complete set of encyclopedia britanica which I must have read all 20 books several times over.

Although that didn't stop me being an obnoxious teenager..

Of course, that's the point. Know it all's don't know the most important thing - that they don't and can't know it all.

Read a book about Aristole fighting in the Peloponnesian War with Hippocrates, both nearly got killed by the Persians before they even had a chance to redefine western science and medicine).

But got no real interest in reading his own ethics book. Philosophy hurts my head-brain.

Lol. It's Welsh. My knowledge of Punjabi is sadly lacking. (Other than Punjab means 'land of 5 rivers' Punj is 5 related to Welsh 'Pump' through PIE)

Having just picked up my teenage daughter, I got thinking on the drive back home..

I guess the know it all state is mostly a transient period, perhaps an attempt to show our parents we are an adult also and know how to live our lives..A rite of passage expressed in the only form we now have available to us now we are no longer hunter gatherers...

Well, it was far better to immerse myself in thought on the drive home then listen to the criticism of my driving from someone with a provisional licence..

We had the from the big one tonight before being told that it's different now. There was a strong implication that we don't exist in 'now' in any meaningful way.
