And there are looking to do a three year experiment, where winter is GMT+1 and summer is GMT+2, basically adopting European time.

Never going to happen. They have to get agreement from the rest of the UK and Scotland said no way. I must admit being northerly myself its fine as it is.

More northerly and i want the switch...its dark in the mornings anyway, and light in the evenings would save childrens lives

I have no strong feelings about it really, but it would mean no more GMT. Time is set by longitude and, apart from a sticky out bit in Spain, we are actually one wedge back from Europe.

They tried it a few decades ago and most people preferred to keep it the way it is. However the press brings it up every time the clocks change so maybe one day.

But the difference would mean more accidents in the early dark mornings when kids are on the way to school etc

Unfortunately our 2y/o has no concept of time so the extra hour in bed was lost as his body clock still yelled "Wakey! Wakey!" at 6.30am - in old money.

I think we should have the 24 different time zones around the world that true time dictates but other than that we should stop messing around with it to suit our convenience. It is what it is, where it is, why change it.

Ours werent quite that bad but were up at their usual time of 7am, which became 6 this morning obviously, which is just too early for a sunday morning!!!!

What makes it more annoying is they slept in till 9 yesterday, just so typical!!
