Not really.

We could highlight that both ECHR and UDHR give the right to get married and ‘found a family’. That’s a quite deliberate choice of wording. Reproduction is just one part of sex, and can be achieved without sex. However, that would be to miss the point.

The point is that people get confused about ‘rights’. A right to marriage (and to found a family, and have sex to do so) just means that you can’t be stopped from doing that without good cause. It doesn’t mean that you HAVE to be provided it. Someone’s right to have sex will never, ever overrule anyone else’s right not to. Failing to provide and failing to permit are two totally separate things.

You can totally see their thought process though.

They see handsome good looking guys acting like dicks towards women yet still being rewarded with women.

The incels (usually unattractive) they get rejected by women whether they act in a good way or a bad way so what's to stop that person reaching their limit and then going fuck it, and either going to kill himself or take it out on women in the form of r@pe or flat out killing them.

I've always always been aware of this phenomenon though never knew it had an official term I just knew the male ego is precious and when that gets dented or hurt that's the main trigger on violent crimes towards women.

It's why when I've met 100's of guys from here socially over the years, baring in mind there's only been 6 that I've actually wanted to have sex with and meet again so that's a lot of rejecting men there, but, I know as soon as I see them and not attracted to them in those few minutes I'll talk about the last guy I met and exaggerate about all the crazy shit I've done and that I'm still obsessed with him or I'll portray myself in the worst possible way so that guy walks away thinking he's had a lucky escape and not that he's just been rejected.

Works for me because alright not every guy is a psycho in the making but aside from keeping myself safe I don't want anyone thinking even if it's just for one second that they aren't good enough for me or I don't want anybody to feel rejection.

Your right to sex, in both UDHR and ECHR, sits under the same article as the right to get married. Nobody is claiming that this means that everyone must be provided a spouse. Yet, somehow, people have a mental block when it comes to the sex aspect.

Surely the default position is that everyone has the right to WANT sex, but not to have it.

Even those in committed relationships, have consensual sex and the No means no rule still applies.

These incels are basically using the lack of sex in their lives as an excuse for not putting in the graft in being able to form relationships.

In their world everything and everyone is to blame for their failure to be decent human beings.

As someone early said, sex workers can see these types and hopefully are able to steer clear of them, after all they deserve the same rights in how they have sex as those in other types of consensual relationships.

These 'groups' would not exist without social media to create them. As isolated individuals they would probably have lived below the radar muttering their discontent to themselves, or in prison for minor crimes.

Bottom line is we live in crowded societies in most of the world, so have to live within social rules and laws to exist and function.

Those who can't, need to move somewhere else with different laws or less people.

Personally I try to keep my head down, rub up against laws that make me uncomfortable but bend them not break them. My goal in life is to do a little more good than harm before I die. A zero balance would be OK but a little credit even better.

It is surely a human right for a person to choose what kind of sex life they want to engage in ie same sex or heterosexual.

Ok...so this is just down to semantics then...the wording needs to be correct to allow that "right" to stand without it being implied that provision is necessary.

I.e "Is it a human right that a person BE ALLOWED to have sex"

And to modify the Op's question "Is it a human right TO BE ALLOWED to have a sex life"

These are fine and do not require provision.

"Is it a right for a human being to have sex?" And "Is it a right for a human being to have a sex life" both imply and require that sex or sex life to be provided by another human (presumably!) who could have no choice in the matter.

So both those statements cannot be rights without infringing a human's right not to have another human have sex with them against their will.

Which is the point I made.

It is something that you cannot be prohibited from having without good cause. Again, an individuals human rights have to be balanced with the rights of those around them.

Allow me to provide another example which demonstrates this point: it has recently been determined that internet access is a human right. This does not mean that the government is infringing the human rights of any individual if it fails to furnish them with free internet access in their home. It just means that, for example, the courts need significant justification to impose a court order prohibiting an offender (such as downloaders of illegal pornography) from having any internet access whatsoever.

As with the sex, this does not mean that someone who can’t find an ISP willing to provide them internet access is infringing their human rights.

You’re also making the mistake of thinking that the right to have sex is in any way the same as the right to have sex with whomsoever you choose. As stated, the application of one persons rights cannot infringe on the rights of another.

No, the ‘logic’ isn’t lost, but you’re logic is based on a flawed understanding of the whole big picture of what ‘human rights’ are, and how they are applied. You’re labouring under the misapprehension that this is my opinion. It’s not an opinion.

Go and read about UDHR and ECHR, and how they are applied. It’ll take less time than convincing the governments of the world to adopt your interpretation of human rights. You’ll also need to rewrite the Human Rights Act 1998 to make it compliant with your special definition. Then rewrite all the legislation that’s been written since then, since it all has to comply with that Act.

I think there is a misunderstanding between the word ‘right’ and ‘entitlement’. I regard it that we all have the right to have sex, but that we are not entitled to have sex. In the same way we have the right to go on holiday, eat a bar of chocolate, buy a new pair of shoes etc etc However if the opportunity to have the things we want is not available, we are not entitled to them regardless.
