What do you call them?

Is there a cut-off age where it stops being acceptable to say boyfriend/girlfriend?

I find it very easy introducing Nick as my friend..... but on a couple of occasions Nick has been awkward introducing me to acquaintances. I suppose it’s because most wouldn’t understand the dynamics of our relationship which is very much an open one. Even FWB doesn’t really encapsulates our relationship......... but to answer your question OP in my opinion girlfriend/boyfriend is for the youth of today that really need that affirmation of what kind of relationship they’re in and where it is leading to.

People ask me if I have a boyfriend or if I'm seeing anyone. It's no to the boyfriend but what do you say about someone (or two) that you're seeing just for sex?

I don’t think I’ve ever introduced in the sense of, this is my girlfriend/wife. I’ve always just used a name. Maybebit feels more personal that way.

To clarify, I’ve never said this is my bitch.

I do t think you gave boyfriends/girlfriends outside primary school any more do you? Modern love and all that.

It's comments like this that get you trouble...... unless that's what you're looking for, in which case you'll get nothing

I struggle with that all the time, we’re a bit too old for the boyfriend/girlfriend titles. I just introduce him by name, and when I’m buying him a card I look for one saying the man in my life as that seems to cover it better x

Feels a bit odd calling a 47 year old man my BOYfriend
