You split from a reason.

Has that reason been resolved? Or are you both prepared to put the work in to resolve your issues? If so you may have a chance of sucessfully getting back together.

However if nowts changed except she's feeling needy or lonely then sorry it ain't gonna work this time round either so my advice is to ignore her, otherwise prepare to have your heart broken by her again.

It all depends on how you feel about your ex, or if you want to get involved again

You either need to find out her motivation for contacting you, or ignore the text, only.you can decide.

As my ex is my business partner, I have to communicate with her, and it's difficult, but I am man enough to work through it, you have to make that same choice

Well it’s all depends on your situation. Mine told me to leave and take the kids with me. I never cheeted eather. She only wanted me back when I was happy. And moving on. Do the pros and cons and all that.

The flip-side to that coin is my best mate and his wife. They split up for a few months, then got back together. Fourteen years of marriage and two kids later, they prove that ‘never go back’ is a daft rule.

Quick story about my friend and going back to his ex girlfriend....

He dated this beautiful girl that was very materialistic. Not well educated but still a decent and polite person... she dumped him because he was a workaholic and didn’t spend enough time kissing her ass.

I spent a whole summer going out with him , giving him advice, and making sure he was constantly busy so he wouldn’t be depressed. Boom.... he starts dating a great girl, the ex sends him a message on Facebook...

I told him the shower and dirty underwear quote and he said she just wants to be friends.

Well I said “ There is no fuck , like a dumb fuck “

It’s your life do what you want...

This dumb ass hooks up with her late one night. She says she is pregnant, he takes responsibility, gets married , and buys a house.

The twin girls come and they both have flaming redhair and green eyes... he is black as coal... and the mother is blonde with blue eyes... he is now divorced and has to pay child support and alimony for children that are not his....

Moral of the story going back to ex’s is like the tax man review your old tax returns... nothing good will come of it

The point is that there is no ‘rule’. Your friend was stupid to get back with his ex. Mine wasn’t. Trying to take individual cases and then say that there is some kind of ‘rule’ is folly.
