Free clothes hangers

As I was walking around Tesco looking hangers I asked a member of staff.

She happily informed me that if I give her a minute she would go out back and get me some.

For free as the ones that are used in shop are put in the bin.

So I got 22 free.

And I was going to play £6 for 18.

I'm not surprised they gave them away free, the supermarket I work in does this too.

What does surprise me is that they throw away any that are unwanted - ours get recycled and made into new hangers.

We had a lady from the local women's aid service come into store last week wanting several boxes of hangers for their service users. I was shocked by how rude she was when told we didn't have them for her, her attitude was appalling because she'd had a wasted journey - if she'd phoned up to check first her time wouldn't have been wasted.

Our store donates a lot of stuff to the local women's aid service - toys with damaged packaging, clothing and toiletries, bedding etc. I sincerely hope their service users are treated better than their donors.

the lady just said we throw them in the bin. They probably have a recycling bin
