Hi all just looked at a profile of a lovely single guy and thought mmm ok give him a message then Boom... legal rami stuff how he will sue under European courts and quotes lots of legal codes if his photos or profile is shared... the threats were endless so I thought you just blown your chance ( excuse the pun) he did contact me all this was on his profile.. good luck finding a lawyer taking on the internet companies...

Any thoughts fellow fabsters Txx

His profile, his choice of what to put on it. If it gives him some comfort to make empty threats who exactly is it hurting?

I think a lot of people put those warnings on their profile when they join because they see other people have them on theirs and think it's advisable. We had the Sydney Uni one on ours. Once we realised it was worthless we took it off.

It's your choice whether you meet people with warnings.

Slough Windsor ish

If somebody is that naive to copy and paste all that nonsense to their profile we really don't want to get to know them. We just "thanks but no thanks" them and move on.

To be honest it is like heading your profile with "I'm a bit thick".

That may or may not matter to you...

What can I say? We were naive about these things when we first started swinging.

If anyone thought we were daft, fair enough. None of us come to internet contact sites knowing everything there is to know.

It is a bit annoying, especially when the legal stuff is 95% of the profile text and they have no pics!

It can be annoying but if the rest of the profile is interesting and the pictures appealing we tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Everybody's all blah blah blah, then someone like Martin Lewis will come along along and sue, make a precedent and everyone without a 'sydney suck my cok' paragraph, will lose out one million dollars.

Brighton - even Hove!

My thoughts are a) it’s lazy, b) it shows a lack of thought and c) no one sues so shows lack of purpose. If she was good looking I’d probably give her the benefit of the doubt but a bloke? Instant block.

Wow. Is it really that easy to get so exercised by what someone puts on their profile that it needs a thread complaining about it OP?

It's simple if you don't like what's on a profile why make an issue of it...

Just move on to one that does meet your exacting standards

Crumbs! It's interesting to see how we would have been perceived when we first joined. Fundamentally we're no different now but perceptions of us will be different because someone took the time to point out that the legal warning was rubbish.

Some people simply don't know what it means. We didn't so put it on for a while thinking it was a necessity, 'serious swingers seem to have it and we're just starting so let's do as they do'. It's all bullshit, we know that now, we don't use it as a filter though, they might be worth meeting, wouldn't judge them on that.
