Good retirement age?

55 seems a good age to retire at. You’re still young enough to enjoy it,

I can’t see me being able to afford it when I get there though, so thinking it’ll be 60. Sigh.

I'll still get a call the morning I die from my employer wondering why I've not turned up for work!!

Either that or I'll drop dead at work.

I am aiming at retiring at 55 in full time work and then come back on part time basis.

Been working my ass off putting it in a pension and property.

sw London

Both semi-retired now hubby was 45 & I was 49, just do some freelance as and when the mood takes.

Took a lot of hard work and sacrifice in the beginning, but well worth it in the end!

East Sussex

I retired in 2014. My workplace asked for volunteers for redundancy, I applied and the rest is history. I still work occasionally if they have a busy time or a particular project that needs an extra hand.

Mr N retired in 2015.

We're lucky in that we have small private pensions that give us an income.

I wouldn't go back to full time work for anything less than £100,000.00 a week and it's highly unlikely anyone would offer me even a fraction of that

When you feel ready to give up work and can afford to.

If you have property, rent it out and move to a country where the rental income provides a decent lifestyle.

55 is ideal but not realistic. I'm aiming for 60.

Aiming for 60 here, at which point my youngest should be finished at 3rd level, should she choose that path.

I can’t see an end age in sight for me, I work with the elderly so I am hoping whichever job I am doing it won’t be the same one as this as I don’t think i’d be able to deliver some of the activities I do at 70 lol.

Geeky x
