We're all bombarded with articles on healthy regimes to maintain our physical best, but what about emotional and mental well being?

What's your workout to stay mentally healthy? The outdoors? Communication? Solitude? Humour?

Time out with my best friend, lots of humour, a little alcohol and lots of sex.

In other words, escapism from real life for a few hours.

Gardening, there's something about the strenuous work of digging coupled with the meditative quality of sewing seeds and waiting for them grow that is very levelling.

Look up Tapping with Brad Yates. If you can initially get past the American accent I've found him good for resetting your mindset and challenging the way you think.

Might not be for everybody. Works for me.

Yoga and mindfulness, being outdoors, being by the sea, being out on my paddle board, swimming.

Basically if it takes care of my body it takes care of my mind too, and vice versa.

Late night drives with my fwb, where we talk it out, fuck it out. He's my headspace. I'm his therapy.

Whatever, It works.

Meditation and mindfulness.

I remind myself things were so bad I considered ending it a number of times.

I got through each of those times and things couldn’t possibly ever be that bad again.

I smile and look for the humour.

If I’m really struggling I talk to my lady and I work it out by writing lists of what I need to do.
