Drive through Costa

Especially on motorways, surely this is encouraging people to be driving whilst not in full control of the vehicle??

should it be allowed??

You may think that bad and I couldn't think of anything worse than a bucket of stewed costa black coffee (except maybe a bucket of stewed Starbucks black coffee), in Australia there are drive through off licence stores (bottle stop) where you can order a box of VB stubbies (or whatever other Ozzy beer takes your fancy) and have an ice cold box of beer placed in your car.

A drive through Krispy Kreme doughnut shop would be far more beneficial on a motorway, all that sugar must be good for you and there would be no more accidents due to people falling asleep while driving...

Not sure how it's encouraging people to drive whilst not in full control of the vehicle any more than supermarkets selling cans of drink, or garages selling packets of sweets etc is. Or even car manufacturers putting distractions in the car such as CD players or entertainment systems.

It's not like these places are advertising their wares with a slogan that says "Buy our product and drink it while you drive" is it?

It's down to individuals to decide how to drive responsibly and not companies like Costa, Starbucks etc.

By having branches (drive through or otherwise) of these places on major roads and motorway services etc, it encourages people to take a break and caffeine is known to help with keeping you more alert, so there's an argument to be made that it does just the opposite of what you're suggesting OP

Except sugar spikes blood sugar then crashes so would make you more tired.

There's probably headwear somewhere that includes a baby feed/drinking mouthpiece, connected via tube to the drink - keeping hands free for other things.

We had drive through Daiquiri bars back in the USA though open alcoholic beverages aren't legal now whilst driving

Just because you drive thru doesn't mean you're going to drink it while driving.

Time, weather, passengers, attire have all seen me go through a drive thru but not drink while driving.

Comes back to individuals taking responsibility for their own and others safety though - the two scenarios you describe could and have happened, but then so have accidents while someone was changing a CD or a billboard ad distracted them, or even drinking the hot drink they made at home before they left - how far do you take things?

I'm not sure how you can say it's stewed? I've never seen it drawn from an urn or such like. Have you? Do you know for a fact that their coffee has been sat around all day waiting to be bought?
