You wouldn’t believe how many people drop them in the loo. "This is why I warmed it up with the screen removed. I imagine your button and speaker started to corrode. Using rice and surrounding a closed device hoping it draws moisture out didn’t seem to be the best way seeing as I have the tools to open it. I used to be an aircraft engineer some time ago and we had procedures to salvage electronic equipment from aircraft that had been ditched in water. Only time will tell now if mine corrode. If they do I’ll just change them | |||

This is why I warmed it up with the screen removed. I imagine your button and speaker started to corrode.
Using rice and surrounding a closed device hoping it draws moisture out didn’t seem to be the best way seeing as I have the tools to open it.
I used to be an aircraft engineer some time ago and we had procedures to salvage electronic equipment from aircraft that had been ditched in water.
Only time will tell now if mine corrode. If they do I’ll just change them "True. It was an easy fix. (Parts bought of eBay.) and the pins were greenish with the water damage. I do think the rice did help. iPhones are a pain in the ass trying to open now. | |||
