Try growing some. Jersey royals are actually a variety called international kidney, the seed potatoes are readily available. They are protected so only those grown on jersey can be called that.

Jersey royals only taste like Jersey Royals because they are grown in soil in Jersey. (I have tried at home but the taste wasn't the same. NB I don't live in Jersey)

They’re even better straight out the ground here in Jersey (Worzel working there)

Top tip though, the potato company over here bag them up for all the supermarkets, so whether you buy them for £1 from a budget supermarket, or £5 from an upmarket retailer, they are the same potatoes.

They’re also quite pricey over here too!!

I'm always a bit dubious about the pre-bagged scrubbed ones. Never sure exactly what you're getting.
