It's true, you might think i'm crazy but the time to really get worried is when they start talking back.

Reminds me of an episode of the Good Life.

Well, you're in good company. - Prince Charles talks to his flowers and there's nothing wrong there eh? ...

I talk to plants all the time. I was encouraging some courgette seeds to germinate on Thursday.. I thought they weren't listening but discovered that Monty Don has only just sown his so there's hope.

Interesting stuff, thanks Wikipedia, and closely linked it seems to 'the memory of water' but i don't want to go down that route again.

There is scientific evidence which shows that plants do benefit from being spoken to, not because they crave human company (maybe they do?) but because as we speak we breathe out carbon dioxide enriching the local atmosphere with the gas they need for photosynthesis.

Does this occur when you smoke them? Or are they still potted?

* oops, got a little confused, was referring to 'the secret of water' not 'the rice experiment'.

Northampton Somewhere

I talk to my houseplants, mainly orchids and a peace Lily. Usually along the lines of 'here's a drink, sorry I've neglected you, now grow me another flower or you're going in the brown bin!!'

Do you think they are protesting?

Mythbuster's proved talking or playing music helps them grow.

More like quaking with fear. Try asking them nicely.
