It would have to be Jimi Hendrix.

I was on the Isle Of Wight on holiday with my mum and dad in 1970 when Hendrix was on. We could hear Hendrix playing, but the sound system was rubbish. Would love to watch and listen with Hendrix playing through a modern concert sound system.

Been a Trex fan for years I know its not the same but there is a tribute band called Trextasy they are superb seen them twice the lead singer is great. I also had the luck to be taught cabinet making by Pete Dines also known as dino Dines the key board player for Trex. Such a nice guy real laid back hippy ?

Best Springsteen show I saw was Wrecking Ball tour (1st without him) his son was doing the Saxophone and there was a nice tribute during 10th Avenue Freeze Out,

but still,

I kept looking over,

and not seeing him,

It was just too big of a gap to fill.

All good choices but there are good quality recordings available of them (yes, I know it's not the same) so I'm going to reach back a little further in time and day Enrico Caruso, he was very well regarded in his time and I'd like to hear what the fuss was about. Crackly old 78s just aren't good enough.
