Rising damp one of the most funny sit coms on the telly of its time, one or two more such as on the buses porridge with ronnie barker etc.

How do these icons of the past stack up againt todays programmes such as "mrs browns boys" etc.

Mind your language with various unknowns in the cast who are now quite well known.

Mrs Browns Boys is awful.

Then again I recently saw a repeat of On The Buses which I loved as a kid, lets just say it hasn't stood the test of time well.

Steptoe and son the one where they made the house in to two halves with turnstiles and a split telly was so funny and even today it still makes me laugh and even my grand children think its daft and funny.........just like their grand dad

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

There have been some great comedies over the recent years, Goodness gracious was an excellent sketch show and Bluestone 42 just a superbly funny, if not slightly dark, comedy series.

On a whole, most of the stuff now is utter tosh, its not funny and its poorly executed.

Probably the last great comedy series was the vicar of Dibley, but the Dawn French is a legend when it comes to the funny stuff..

There's no comparison, they just don't write good sitcoms anymore.
