People have said mean things to us on here but they had so little effect on us that neither of us can remember any of the things said.

The problem with the internet is that people can say things to others that they would never say to their face.

I once commented on a minor celebrities Twitter feed. They and their followers took a dislike to a fairly innocuous remark and the vitriol and bile that was aimed at me was incredible. I blocked the person but it opened my eyes to how many people will just follow what others do even when it's deeply unpleasant.

A few mean things, but not a lot considering. Either that I am fat and/or 'up myself' or words to that effect. The first doesn't really upset me since I know I am a lot less fat than I used to be and have always had the same face, which I happen to like, and people on here don't often see that anyway. The second doesn't really upset me either since it tells me I was right not be interested since their default reaction is butthurtedness at my lack of a favourable response.

I am not part of any clique but I am blunt .

They call me fat old cow, they use very offensive language which I can’t even write on here, they accuse me for stealing other girls photos ( although all photos on my profile are of me ) .

But mainly abuse is from men.

I used to get a lot more abuse in my first couple of years here but I don't see it as mean, just them being abusive for the sake of it.

I object to some of it and that will create some abuse.

The funniest one on here was that I write 'posh' so I must be telling porkies about my experience of childhood poverty.

Years ago, one of my abusive messages of many I had received was from a supposed 'Doctor' being concerned about me being anorexic as my boobs were just 'air bags' that wasn't natural for a woman my age, and it went on for paragraph after paragraph, I think the internet was just a new toy for him to explore and be a pretend persona, who knows?

Out of the blue I was told that I’m “totally up myself” and I’m not all that and my husband only gets action because of me....

Firstly that’s a very contradictory statement and secondly hubby has his own profile and does perfectly well without me
