Been going for almost a year now...

Best thing I ever did...

I had a beer belly and skinny arms, and as I was just about to turn 33, I thought I needed to look after myself a bit more...

I get a lot more attention off the women now that I have a reasonable physique... I get tired less easily, have more ‘get up and go’, and I find the gym to be the best way to deal with stress

That’s some really good gains mate!!!

I gained half a stone recently... but have otherwise struggled to get above 13 stone

Just recently started having 2 CNP ProMass shakes a day (3 scoops) and am eating a lot more, so hopefully that’ll have a good effect...

I wore a jacket last night that I couldn’t zip up last year! Felt great!

I like the gym and I'm not in bad shape from it, but I only go a couple of times a week and give myself a right beasting.

I couldn't be one of the gym obsessives who practically live in there and have to video every lift they do to put on Instagram, because they think everyone else wants to watch them pick stuff up and put it back down again

Plateus happen, change angles of exercises, add some supersets, slowler tempo of lifts, change the set and reps numbers and add some different lifts.

Yeah I want to, just dont want to get form wrong and injure myself, mainly going weights to help with jui-jitsu, so a torn ligament or muscle isnt desireable :P

You probably mainly need strength work so.. and alot of mobility.

You could lower your sets ti heavy 5x5's and do as much mobility work as lifting in each session

Just commit to going for 8 weeks...

Take some “before” photos for yourself

And really hit the gym hard...

I got a personal trainer for a bit, as I hadn’t been for years... and it turns out “I don’t know everything”... as much as I liked to think I did...

If you work hard... After 8 weeks, you’ll see a difference, you’ll be enjoying it, and the next 8 weeks will be a pleasure...

You’ll so pleased with yourself

Sparkford

Started lifting properly in Feb after running, cycling and doing bodyweight stuff for years. Fed up of looking skinny fat and my knee gives me grief from running.

Started on 5x5 just using the bar and had some dirty looks but I'm squatting lower with double their weight now. Hardest part is eating enough to put on weight but I'm c.85kg up from 78kg

Yes. Yes I do. Although I despise cardio!

Make cardio fun. Play football or other sports that require constant movement."

I can think of a few ways you'd like to get your heart muscles pumped
