Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Payrise!

It's not much but as I'm mostly self-employed getting a payrise on PAYE contract has come as a pleasantly, unexpected surprise.

What has been unexpected in your life recently?

My Ebay order turned up a week early so I can mess with it this weekend.

After my car accident on Sunday I've already been paid the majority of my car settlement and they valued my car £200 more than I paid for it.

Just need to find a replacement...

Electric handbrake failed on my car today... it rolled off my drive and 300 yards across a busy main road and down a field wilit hitting anyone or anything

Surprised or shocked? Abit of both

Wow! That was a blessing that no one was hurt.

That will keep me suspicious of those things. I like thing that I pull up and hear it click into place.

A gin ice popsicle? My freezer seems to be lacking such treats... Enjoy.

I did nothing to get the payrise except take on a part-time junior role for the experience as part of my attempt at re-inventing myself. I haven't had payrise in 9 years as I'm self employed.

But you state that you have budgeted the shares anyway.

It's a little payrise. I might buy another Clinique lipstick.

That doesn't make sense. You'd think a place that does food would anticipate needing extra food when more people are likely to ask for it.

You'd think so.

Someone forgot to put in an order for last Friday, then placing an order this Monday just gone thinking it'd come in on Tuesday only to discover that our suppliers wouldn't do a delivery until the Wednesday, so for SEVEN DAYS over Easter we didn't have a delivery at all.

I was bloody rationing scrambled egg!

KIDLINGTON

Since moving jobs and starting in Jan... a promotion. A pay rise. Bonus scheme pay out. And just been seconded onto a major project that will shape the future of the business.

All a surprise and unexpected as my last job left me in a pretty vulnerable and low self esteem state....
