I believe ladies don't receive enough compliments and that shows with all the self doubt and insecurities flying about so I always try and throw compliments in, maybe too much.

It's nice to receive the odd one too but I don't give them so that I can get them. It's just the nice thing to do x

You'd be surprised how many we get around here! I always wonder how many other girls have had the "oh wow, youre the most beautiful woman on the site" mail before me.

I guess that's what makes us skeptical.

"Do you give or receive more?

Human nature generally gives more. Few know how to receive well they think they the owe the other person instead of seeing as it is...a gift given freely by the other and should therfore be received without the feeling of owing.

If one refuses a gift given freely... in turn one is actually preventing a blessing the other gets by giving generously without expectation.

Learning to recieve properly is one of the hardest lessons we learn.

(Mr here) honestly it makes me feel good to give a compliment to someone I think deserves one, it's not necessarily to get browny points and sex is not always the motive..for me generally it's just nice to be nice.

I don't 'do' compliments as such. If I tell someone they look nice/ or are nice/ etc, I mean it. It's an honest statement with no hidden agenda.

A compliment is not honest then and always has an agenda? I'd beg to differ. I send a message to people that I'd possibly never need and tell them I like their latest pic and explain why...

So you're saying my compliments about your pics to you have been wasted breath?

There and to the left a bit

I get somewhat awkward at both giving and receiving them!! Unless I'm particularly comfortable with someone I always fear coming across as insincere when giving them, and get very coy and don't know how to respond when I receive them.

Stoke area

I take pleasure in giving compliments and know it gives people a boost.

I am learning to accept compliments. As someone with low self esteem, it's easy to dismiss them.

I realise that it is like being given a gift. So if you don't accept it, it's like handing back a present someone has chosen for you.

Even if it feels uncomfortable initially, I try to thank people and accept what they say.

Often send a message to others to compliment them on their profile and photos. Doesnt take much to let someone know they look great an say thanks for sharing. But can honestly say never had a compliment myself. But then i dont see myself as anything special to warrent one.

As nasty as it sounds it's the truth that when people are after something they will say or do anything.

That includes sending a lie/compliment to someone when they don't mean it just to get sex.

There's a lot of that here where desperate guys will say someone's the most stunning person ever even though they think there a minger just to empty there balls in them.
