As wea are mammals we already have scales, but as evolution has come along ours have just got smaller. If you look at our skin through a magnifying glass or microscope you can see them.

Seals, otters, beavers and other cute aquatic furry creatures.

Personally, I think it's a grooming issue, scales are easy to polish, but washing drying and combing fur could take hours.

But I'd still probably go with fur, as I feel my spirit animal is a bear.
