Further to that, I went to Whitley Bay when I was a kid. My parents quickly got the impression the town had closed, so we left as quickly as we'd arrived!

Call up the Hotel name via Trip Advisor and read the reviews from there. The same can be done via Booking.com and Laterooms.com websites.

If you're wanting to plan meets there I'd go further afield.

The car park is always rammed and there's too high a possibility you'll know someone working or visiting there.

The parking alone would put me off going

Worked up that area many years ago. Stayed in Whitley bay. Hotel on seafront. Used to go to club on seafront called Bananas club. Must be gone by now. Few good nights in there.
