Is it me, but when I search for swingers in the East Midlands I get results with areas like Bury St Edmunds and Norwich! Since when were either of these in the East Midlands???

Does anyone else find this annoying?

same problem here ..... wish we could narrow it down on meet listings to postcodes like we can on browse people

It very much depends on which geographical software is used, but classification of regions etc isn't down so much to Councils etc.

The body which has most power in deciding how regions are defined is Royal Mail. It's because they'd have so much to alter, in respect of systems, equipment, regional allocations of personnel, vehicles and other resources.

I am in west Norfolk and have always known that I am in the East and not East midlands. Midlands has never come into the equation and am sure if you look and see where Norfolk is you cant get any more East than there. I really dislike it when someone referrs to me as being east mids when I am in the East.

I do a search and end up with people in bloody Sheffield whixh is 3 and half hours from me.

Sorry but I see Yorkshire as north and Norfolk as The East.

its never going to be perfect, some sites have a search in a milage range, works well

but there is always the post code search

And yet Sheffield and Doncaster are in the same region as Suffolk and Norfolk.

It is rather annoying and would be better if they could narrow it down a bit.

We are in Suffolk and yes we find it very frustrating when browsing ...

There should definately be a EAST ANGLIA region. It would be so much more easier

And yet Sheffield and Doncaster are in the same region as Suffolk and Norfolk.

Sheffield and Doncaster is South Yorkshire as I used to live there. Never been in the East along with Norfolk and Suffolk.

Yorkshire to me is North and not midlands.

In the vane hope that someone on high read actually these forums, it wouldn't take much for some techy to write and upload an alogrithm to allow search by postcode.

There might even be a free download somewhere in www land!

And yes it is bloody annoying!
