Showing my age here but who can remember getting 20 sweets in a 10 pence mix up....those were the days.

Nowadays what on earth does 10 pence buy you?

I can remember four black jacks for a penny so you'd have got 40 for 10p!!

As for anything costing 10p these days I'm struggling!!

We used to the kids picture matinee on a saturday afternoon. We had 10p. 8p to get in the cinems and 2p for sweets

I'm reminiscing of a 10p mix up the local shop on the way to school also did a 5p mix up and a 15p mix up so nobody felt out of place..... Life was so much easier back then

I used to spend ages choosing which ones to have the shop keeper put in the white paper bag. It was simpler ten; just adding up the 1p and 2ps!

The long jelly eels were 3p though, the balance of sacrificing another sweet for the extra length was always a difficult choice.

I remember going swimming on a saturday morning 2p each way on the bus, 5p into the baths and a penny for sweets after...

I preferred to get a 10p Lucky bag rather than a 10p mix. Never knew what you were gonna get in the Lucky bag.
