East Anglia

Hello everyone!

I have been meaning to set up a thread every Saturday morning pre-kick off to discuss your team's chances of winning, losing, getting relegated or promoted. It will be a bit like Football Focus so will mainly focus on the Premier League unless there is demand for the other leagues as well. Here goes! The teams playing today are:

3pm KO

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

Brighton vs Huddersfield

Leicester vs Newcastle

Stoke vs Spurs

Watford vs Burnley

West Brom vs Swansea

5.30 KO

Man City vs Man Utd

Sunday

Arsenal vs Southampton (2.15pm KO)

Chelsea vs West Ham (4.30pm KO)

My team are Arsenal who had a good result during the week in Europa and it looks like we are going through to the next phase (unless we implode which is highly likely!).

There is a Manchester derby that should be a great match, just in terms of the managers stropping with each other.

Anyway, over to you!

Have you got a bet on this? I think City will win after losing so badly mid-week to Liverpool.

My apologies

It is a 12.30 KO

Liverpool played a blinding game on Wednesday - they blew City apart. Klopp has a good bunch of players now so it will be tough on Everton.

Im not sure thats going to happen... will city stay full strength for todays fixture? Or hold on and hope they can reel in pool next tuesday?

Does anyone else actually regard Mourinho as a world class manager or like myself see him as a guy playing a manager game with an unlimited budget.

I'd be so interested to see him take on a team like West Brom and see just how good he is..

I'm a Liverpool fan. Always hated United and Mourinho is in my eyes an average manager but simply has always had access to unlimited funds. Most managers would be a success with so much cash.

Agreed - he would struggle with no funds. Look at the great job Ed Howe is doing at Bournemouth! But then again, Wenger has the money but doesn't always use it!

Early KO

Everton v Liverpool

I honestly don't know what the score is, but I'm hoping forva Everton win.

3pm KO

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

This will be a tight game, but I think Bournemouth will win (as long as JD is on form)

Brighton vs Huddersfield

I have a soft spot for Brighton and they need to bounce back from last week's humiliation. Brighton win.

Leicester vs Newcastle

Hate Mike Ashley, so it has to be a Leicester win for me.

Stoke vs Spurs

As a Spurs fan, I have to say a Spurs win.

Watford vs Burnley

Burnley are on fire this season, although they are going through a rough patch (I think). Burnley win.

West Brom vs Swansea

Both teams are in difficulty and need a win. Draw.

5.30 KO

Man City vs Man Utd

City win. Hate Man U, not a fan of the whinging one.

Sunday

Arsenal vs Southampton (2.15pm KO)

It has to be a Southampton win (although, I don't think it will happen)

Chelsea vs West Ham (4.30pm KO)

Hate both teams. Chelsea need to come back after being beaten by Spurs last week and WH need to prove that last week wasn't a fluke. Hoping for a draw, but expecting a Chelsea win.

If the ref writes it in their report at the end of the match that they saw it, nothing can be done. It's to stop the ref being undermined.

I agree, any team that beats franchise is always a good result. Best result though would be fore then to go bust...

"All kicking off at the Etihad, can see some red cards coming....

that was a leg breaker from young... i wonder if they will go back and have a look at it after the game.....

Ref saw it and adjudged no foul, so not sure there can be any retrospective action. Nasty though, seen reds given for those

If the ref writes it in their report at the end of the match that they saw it, nothing can be done. It's to stop the ref being undermined."

fair enough, but the issue is that if that happened in the world cup in the summer, that is one of the things that would be looked at by VAR......... so it is swings and roundabouts....

anyway i am guessing arsenal will put out the reserves today against southampton with thursday night in moscow in mind

anyway i am like in sports heaven today, commonwealth games, hong kong rugby 7's, footy, the f1 gp and paris-roubaix classic cycling.....

The sad thing is, that was deamed an acceptable tackle back when football was a physical sport. (Not played by sentimental athletes). He got ball fiirst, which clearly shows intention for getting the ball and not the player. Why that rule changed I’ll never know. As when playing, I have to back off, because I might contact the player after the ball amd risk a card. . The premier ship is soft, yes. It should have been a penalty (according to the rules and precidents set before ).

"Great win for the toon , relieved !My hubby has done a lot of miles this week, He was at Celtic on Wednesday bore draw, He went to Leicester today Great win for the Toon and he's currently on his way to Hamilton to stay over for tomorrows Celtic match , I just switch the telly on its so much easier

It's much easier to financially support only one team!He doesn't unfortunately though "

Well since Saturday morning by the time I get home I will have drove for 13hrs + and done approx. 640 miles but 2 great wins and 2 great games so it was well worth it

Welbeck is such an enigma. 2 goals & an assit, yet misses absolute sitters ever-so-frequently.

With their long trip to Russia next week and the way we are playing I'm quite looking forward to our game with the Gunners next Sunday

A member of the toon army? We don’t travel well but you never can tell! Arsenal have taken me to real highs and heartbreak within minutes! I’m usually an emotional wreck when I watch them.

i have seriously had to talk to my mates about the trip to moscow...

when any lectures start with the words "for god sake... no hazmat suits!" you know its surreal.....

yes... i'll be at the newcastle vs arsenal reserves game next sunday.... the toon might actually have a chance...

Hiding in the shadows

BHA V Huddersfield

Appalling, total shambles, quiet embarrassing, on both sides.

As for the Hudd fan who walked into the club bar after the game & called Brighton a bunch of gay wankers... What did you think would happen.
