Honestly most of my blocking comes from people who send disrespectful first messages, clearly haven't read my profile at all, or repeatedly message when their message gets deleted (which as per fab guidelines means no thank you).

Usually do it when their messages get unpleasant and it's very obvious they are totally wrong to meet with.

Main reason for us is unsolicited friend requests, if it clearly says we sont want them in the profile then its just ignorance to send one, closely followed by poeple who are the furthest thing from the people we would want to meet. We know we have been blocked by people we have never spoken to and can only assume its the same reason they have, doesnt bother us, saves wasting time communicating with them

My block list is longer than my hotlist.

I was hoping they wouldn't come up in a search and that when they search they wouldn't see me either. But I'm new to this site and I'm not entirely sure it works that way. I blocked some just to experiment with this and then look for them but I would still see them. However I noticed I haven't seen others that I blocked longer ago. It could be a coincidence and they haven't logged in.

I blocked a few because I suspect they know someone who knows me.

- We've made contact and they're not interested, or I'm not. It keeps them out of my searches and prevents further pointless and possibly annoying exchanges. Sometimes it's just profiles I look at and decide they aren't for me and want them out of my searches.

They are the vast majority. The remaining few are

- People who can't even spare a few minutes to read a profile and send some naff cliched one liner like "what u into?"

- People who can't take a polite no thanks, without launching into a stream of abuse

- People who creep me out

Many many reasons for blocking, the list is huge!

The most recent was a couple who say on their profile that they insist on receiving a pic with a fist message and warn that they will block those who do not comply. They have no public pics and when they contacted us they did not send a pic as they ask others to do.

Think we're going have to. Received a nice message yesterday so replied, thanks but not meeting, good luck blah blah. Since received lots of graphic messages about what he would like to do, eight so far without reply. Best thing is I usually just block off the bat but with his initial message being so nice; just thought if he enjoys the pics let him get on with it but it's a bit irritating now. Hmmmm

I only take action to block Fabbers if they are offensive and/or make pests of themselves with multiple messages despite being asked to stop. I’d rather talk to someone and ask them to leave off than block immediately

I have 100s on my block list for many different reasons, ranging from stopping their irritating pics or status updates appearing on my home page to them keep mailing the same C&P message over and over and getting shitty when I tell them no thanks.

I’ve had a few messages from single guys with FBs who want another guy for MMF so I keep it open just in case!

I don’t get enough messages to make it a hassle.
