What makes you feel sentimental?

One of my work colleagues has just found out she's having a little girl, so I was shopping for a few bits for her earlier today. My god daughter's recently turned three, and I couldn't believe it was so long ago since I shopped for baby clothes for her. I actually almost got tearful.

I love shopping for baby stuff; I probably won't ever have the need to again.

I get sentimental when I smell creosote on a warm Spring day. It reminds me of my dad painting the fence.

Cigar smoke makes me sentimental for Christmas when I was a kid. It was the only day my father ever smoked.

Music. So many songs have connections to memories.

Coal smoke.

Reminds me of steam fairs when I was young.

I love baby clothes shopping. But I tend to gift bibs and nappies as they are most needed and no one gets you them.

I can get a bit emotional over people helping people in need or during diverse adverse situations when you see people coming together.

Pipe smoke reminds me of my uncle. I haven't seen anyone smoke a pipe for years.

I can get terribly sentimental looking at old photos - moments in time which seem so fresh that are actually decades ago, dreams not realised, people and pets who are no longer here, kids grown up, past homes I didn't want to leave, places I'll almost certainly never see again ... all that sort of thing. It's the passage of time thing which usually gets to me ...

I love shopping for tiny human clothes, they’re so cool.

Music is probably the main thing that makes me feel sentimental.

Music is the only thing really, triggers memories from certain points in my life, good and bad that can make me sentimental.

Music, smells, pictures. They can all make me feel sentimental.

The smell of privet hedge flowers and the smell of green groceries, all remind me of good times as a child. Long before it all went tits up!!!

Music mostly... also facetime with my 18month old grandaughter makes me go all mushy when she says nana and kisses/slobbers on the phone.

I'm the same. Had an old lady, late 80's, telling me how she used to have beautiful long hair and her husband would spend hours brushing it when they were first married. I was struggling to hold back the tears.

Like most, music and smells. It’s getting worse since I’ve become a mother and I’m getting a little older. I will cry over anything if it reminds me of certain times in life

Public hair. Was showing some of the lads some 70s/early 80s porn and to a man they remarked that they had never encountered an angry bever
