Is a godsend for checking out some of the more obscure tunes i see posted on the forums...

Anyone else use theirs for similar reasons?

I don’t see the benefit of all of these “always listening” devices.

Just seems like another example of encouraging Laziness

They’re not always listening, they just wake up at a keyword, otherwise it just goes in one microphone hole and out the other.

A bit like a bloke really

How do they know when the keyword is mentioned if they are not listening ?

Don’t know, but picture yourself with the boss talking to you, the voice is a bit like the teacher in Charlie Brown cartoons - sort of waah waah woah waah.

Until the words “pay review” get mentioned and then you just click in to hearing everything

They are always listening in and connect to your other devices, my friend has one and after him and his girlfriend had a discussion about buying a new car they both suddenly started getting adds for new cars on their phones and laptop.

A surveillance device in every home that citizens pay for themselves. Brilliant!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

They are always listening. Key words wake them up to respond.

World At One (R4) did a little series with families using these to reassure that your data are safe. The children in one of the families discovered that their parents were able to listen in on all of their conversations.

Not for me, I even unplugged my webcam and mic, I don't want my computer (and anyone who hacks in) listening in on certain discussions I have lol

There was a Google van at a shopping centre at the weekend offering people the chance to win a Home Mini or a doughnut. The queue was really long, even though it was raining incessantly. I don't know if they wanted the device or a free doughnut.

I have had mine since xmas..its just an extension of ok google on your phone.. the only thing it responds to aside from me and my son, is when the advert comes on the telly ...

We only use it for music as my son has realised he knows more than it
